THE NEW MULTI FREQUENCY BEAM

It now becomes obvious that we must make an arrangement of elements to reinforce the gains obtained by our new antenna. The easy way is by adding another element. When two elements are used but with only one driven capacitor, the new beam behaves very similarly to the normal mono bander though the shape of the radiation field in many cases does not appear to be optimum at a usable driving impedance but certainly an improvement to the state of the art. Use of two, independently controlled capacitors allowed the shape of the radiation field to be remotely modified. Multi lobe generation can be staved of even more, the main lobe can have an increased gain, the rear lobe can be attenuated or the pattern can be swung thru 180 degrees in the opposite direction. It would be natural to believe that the adding of more elements would give the antenna more dexterity. (Author has made a four element form in the past)

It should be noted that the common reflector is not required to obtain these attributes, which could call for the revision of boom length/gain graphs. Fig 10.

So now we come to SHOW TIME! I could show pictures of the antenna with high gain claims but such claims are always dismissed as unverifiable. Having independent people to make the antenna also in unconvincing. Which leaves us with computer programs as the so called best possible 'proof.' to skeptics.

Past experiences with computer programs have caused me more pain than assistance. It takes experience and knowledge of the foibles of a particular program for its existence to be of any value. Avoidance of close or coupled elements are to be avoided, as are variable diameter current carriers, sharp corner joints to name a few (plus the errors that an old man makes.) However, to succeed one must first attempt and the results are shown under computer compilations. The written program is also shown so that others can play with it or to point out errors in approach. Rough antenna field measurement appear to corroborate the design. The ability to produce comparative radiation fields by connecting a computer (note 11) to the receiving antenna has now been provided, sans 5 volt amplification of signal requirement, to reduce the possible addition of human translation error.

It is also germain as to why my computer model is using straight elements of 2 1/4 diameter!! The reason is that for antenna purposes I use thin glass fiber wound tubes as elements to remove the 'taper' factor. These elements are clad with aluminum foil, the use of fat elements are also useful when dealing with closed spaced coupled elements as disclosed in last years page along with the mechanical details of 'how to build' the above multi band beam

COMMENTS

I would appreciate comments from those who have read this particular page, even derogatory ones. Help, guidance or pointers are naturally eagerly requested. My former page describing new ideas with respect to antennas and types of feed, provided DXCC from the Worlds Universities. Also received visits from prominent companies and many hams from around the World , but feed back or comments was ZILCH. Whether it was so bad or unbelievable I do not know. But I was so discouraged that I eradicated the whole page. After a year on the net I was surprised that I didn't even get any SPAM. Is construction dead? But I will reinstate construction details if requested.

Hopefully I have done a better job of explaining this work, such that I 'Will hear the trees falling in the forest' this time. Please let me know your feelings and comments either directly or via news group postings.
