Quick History: Sand Buggy

The hot rodders’ challenge has always been to observe a set of rules or circumstances and overcome them with creativity. In the ’50s there were no sand cars or dune buggies. Solution 1: Get an old truck, and whack off as many things as you can live without to reduce weight. Solution 2: Cobble together some junkyard framerails with a junkyard roadster body and an old V-8 engine. Many also used surplus airplane tires as huge balloons for flotation.
