I think one of the best things that Alan ever did was his mix of the brilliant debut album by Ambrosia. Alan Parsons fans, Ambrosia self titled debut and the follow up produced by Alan "Somewhere I've Never Travelled" are SHEAR GENIUS!

I've always been an Alan Parsons fan. I am going to see him this weekend in Delray Beach, Fla. I hope to get one of my old original albums signed. Maybe the inside of I Robot.
And for anyone reading this, you should check out an old progressive band called Crack The Sky. They were popular (but never made it big) in the 70's. Used to open up for bands like Styx, Kansas, Al Stewart.

I just wanna say how great is alan Parsons and his music, once I went to an alan parsons concerte with my brother, you won't believe it, so we were sitting with my bro before the concerte, the concert was with Yes! the're good too but never like alan so we saw alan parsons in the consol main the sound and all that, so my brother old me go and talk to him I was afraid 'cause i wasn't alloud! but then I went and I go hello! Mr. Parsons and he was so good very polite, he asked where I was from I told him that I'm fron a tiny country very small country wich is El Salvador and I wasn't lucky enough 'cause I did not have a pen for his atograph b*** sh***! but it was agreat experience, I hope you al believe me I'm saying the truth, take care everyone and God the Lord bless you, bye!!

After a break of many years I'm finally getting back into the Project, I really am kicking myself that I have missed so much. The pleasure is hard to descibe least to say I don't think Alan has quite finished yet. Despite the departure of Eric Woolfson, I find Try Anything Once a classic APP work. I still think the unoffical theme of this to be religon and belief. Like many I am disappointed with Eve and Vulture Culture and only just take to Ammonia Avenue. It seems uncanny that I have liked most of the other Bands/ Songs that Alan has had an influence on over the years. His product always has his name on it. I was working at the record plant in northen calif./s.f. bay area when alen had his playback party for I robot.Ive been a fan of all allens music from the first time I heard tales. Ive been in the industy for over 30 yrs. from building major touring sets to recording section.I think allen is one of greatest in the feild of recording.to bad he hasnt team up with Andreas Vollenweider,Andrew powell,eric wolfson,.That would be a great project. "A VALID PATH" is Parsons' leap into the world of electronica music, filled with poly-rhythmic drumbeats and soaring guitar solos, provided in part by Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. The record's gem, "More Lost Without You", features P.J. Olsson on vocals. Another great collaboration is with The Crystal Method on "We Play The Game". Alan Parsons has released three records without the 'Project' identity behind him; his last, entitled The Time Machine, earning rave reviews, including four stars from the All Music Guide.

Parsons, an engineer and producer, worked on classic albums like Let It Be, Abbey Road, and Dark Side of the Moon, for which he earned one of his ten Grammy nominations. He emerged in 1976 as the artist behind his own group, ground breaking progressive rockers The Alan Parsons Project. The Alan Parsons Project had two Top Ten Albums, six Top Ten Singles and were awarded 3 platinum and 7 gold records by the RIAA. Their 1982 Eye In The Sky is recognized as a seminal classic rock album, and its title track reached #3 on both the Billboard Adult Contemporary and Pop Singles charts. As well as the Alan Parsons Project, Alan has also produced and engineered records for Paul McCartney's Wings, The Hollies, Ambrosia and Al Stewart, including the classic "Year Of The Cat".

Alan Parsons are a truly wonderful band whose music I was introduced to by my father at the young age of seven. I am now 22 with a baby on the way and am manically listening to Alan Parsons on my personal CD player in the hope that my daughter will love it just as much as I do.
I have had the pleasure of seeing them play live at Sheperds Bush Empire when I was 16 and no concert since has ever come close to t he feeling of pure elation. I hope to be able to witness the gods of music again sometime soon.

a cover of 'eye in the sky' to be recorded by ZAJGEP. i first heard this tune...probably when i was a kid. i discovered it while working at value village while it was being played over the intercom. im trying to listen to what is being said but couldnt make it out. but what grapsed me was the music itself; the chords, underlying melody glued to the pace. i had to ask someone else who it was. i don't know any other songs by them. that's it for me.

AP is one of my absolute favorites ever. Other is Pink Floyd.

I have one of the very original editions of Tales of Mystery (33 rpm of course), with the mummy picture in b&w.

AP performed in my city (Guadalajara) in October last year. Wonderful show, albeit different from what you are acccustomed by hearing the albums.

Hi APP fans,

I'm glad to see APP still on the road. The concert in La Coru�a was top-notch. I thought it was going to be a little bit disappointing as Eric Woolfson and other longtime band members were missing, but they coped pretty well, specially the guitar virtuoso Godfrey Townshend and that long-haired tenor Steve Murphy, who sang "Breakdown" so well I couldn't tell the difference between he and Allan Clarke. P.J. Olsson was a nice surprise, altough he seemed to be rather excited, moving to and fro in a sissy way... He nearly cried when singing "Time". Well, I guess I would have done the same if I'd been given the chance to sing that work of art.

They sang all of their most famous songs, so I got the pleasure to listen to "Prime Time", "Eye In The Sky", "Don't Answer Me", "I Robot" and all of the other great songs they've written. It lasted 2 hours, the encore being "(The System Of) Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether" and "Games People Play". They might be old farts, but they are streets ahead of lousy phony punk-crap groups like The Strokes, and I'm not saying this because I don't like The Strokes. It just annoys me the fact that old timers play for two hours whereas these other scruffy and zonked long-haired hippy types can't last but one friggin' hour, enough to just sing some songs, leave you deaf and clear off.

The Alan Parsons Project is my favorite rock band, of course after Pink Floyd, which is one kind of Parsons� brother. It has been very hard to me to find the music of the project because they don�t usually ship to Colombia. You know, I�ve only meet two people who like their music, however I will try to stand in this higher ground that is giving me such experience hearing this awesome music.
By they way, If you like to hear, my favorite song is: In the Lap of the Gods, which gives me true electrical shocks of fascination through my body, most of them in the middle section that sounds kinda of a storm or judgement�s day. Bye.

I, ve been a mega fan of AP since listening to the Poe Album in 1977. Never seen anything related live but would love to. What a pity I live in a place where this massive talent is not fully appreciated. His work has become a keystone to the bridge of my life. So when I'm Old and Wise the memories and imagery APP has done for me will stay clear and sharp. Thank G-d for artists like the Alan Parsons Project. Over the years there have been so few bands that have tried to expand the frontiers of musical art. In my opinion the Alan Parsons Project has always been one of the leaders (along with Pink Floyd and the Beatles) in taking music to new artistic heights of beauty, sound and emotion. The Project has shown that it has never been afraid to challange people's perceptions of the common song. The Project has proven that by mixing themes with strong melodies and emotions music can be as powerful as any Rembrandt, and breath taking as any Picaso.
In doing this, the Alan Parsons Project's music will live for ever in the heart, soul and mind of loyal fans (like myself).

Alan Parsons is by far the greatest musical genius of all time in my opinion. I had the time of my life when I met Alan and Ian Bairnson after a concert( On Air tour) one night in New Mexico. He was a very nice guy to hang out with. He gladly took the time to sign autographs and pose for photos. Would like to see him tour again. Would also like to see "The Project" reunite someday. My mom got me hooked on the project five years ago. And I have listened to all I can. There is almost nothing I didn't like. Eve being the exception, but hey that's Alan's least favorite I hear. The Band has so much diversity it's incredible. I want to pay tribute to all of the singers, Ian Barinson, Andrtew Powell and his orchistra, and anyone else who did even the smallest thing in the project. This is Quality music and i feel sorry for those who can't appriciate it but it's their loss.

What can I say... my brothers introduced me to them when I was a kid, and since then (20 something years later) I still find this band so unique, many emotions come to place when I listen to them, there music just makes me feel good. I can't wait for there new album. I heard that Eric Woolfson is in the US trying to get some ideas for their new creation. Tip: I recorded some of my favorite LP songs into a VHS (in HiFi) this way I can still get good analog quality sound, I least good enough. This way I have 2 hours (or more) of non-stop Alan Parsons. A penny for your thoughts can written by Woolson and Nolan for the band Tavaras. I've got that song on a cd.

On the same cd is another song from Alan Parsons And Chris Thompson and is called You're the voice. You know him from John Farmham.

I�m an architect, and since I was studying I was amazed on how AP�s music could let me feel o.k. with my tasks. Altough I could be very busy or needing lots of concentration, the music was there and made me feel good. I was surprised to read somewhere these days,what I felt then, it was "thinking" music.

Yo to all the forty-somethings that weren't into Abba or the other mainstream crud around in the mid seventies. Muchly preferred the music of Floyd and thusly the Project. What a breath of fresh air, "Tales" brought forth. Couldn't afford the audiophile gear at the time but now I have such, this music just gets better with age. A semi-cover of "I Robot" occurred in a TV special of Linda "Wonder Woman" Carter's. The opening of "I Robot" played while Linda ascended and descended a staircase to open the show. It was incredibly effective (and very sexy). I wonder if it was an unauthorized "sample"...

Alan Parsons is the best ! I would like to know the mean of Ammonia Avenue. What is it? Where is it?. Why did he write a song with that name on it ? I think that every song of Alan Parsons Project is different and it has its own meaning , but this one is the best . Here in Costa Rica many people like very much this kind of music. Thanks��

I have been writing and producing my own music for some time.
I have always used Alan Parsons amongst a few others as my touchstone for the ideas in music.
I note that there have been some harsh and maybe valid critics of the Alan Parsons Project at times, (only critics can have this luxury).
These critics have failed to hear the ideas contained within the music. Music is more than just words and sounds, it is a picture and feeling that we can construct from total experience of it.
Being a musician , I have spent many hours studying other artists including the aforementioned, as well as Peter Gabriel, Andreaus Vollenweider, Tangerine Dream and others. All these artists have their own ideas and stamp that no one else can take from them.
If I am fortunate enough, I hope to do this one day. Even if I fail I am in it for the long hall.There are lots of talened people who are never known.
I think they have proved their point , despite the critics, were not ALL fools.

...Music, poetry, philosophy, pure art. That is what I think Alan Parsons music is. Still thinking, but their live show made me realice that Money is the great thing even for the biggest artist. It was a so comercial show and I was very dissapointed when I listened prerecorded tracks of the albums versions. Was in that point that I began to miss Eric Woolfson. Alan Parsons is the technology as Woolfson is the soul and the inspiration. Long life to Eric Woolfson.
