Optima is the official battery of ROADKILL, and also the source of the Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car within the Ultimate Street Car Association. If “ultimate” sounds daunting, don’t worry. The events are open to Roadkilly cars provided they are safe. The concept is simple- show up with your street car (200+ treadwear tires), a helmet, and a neck collar and get ready for more track time over two days than most folks can handle. They’ll run you through an autocross, a speed-stop, a road course time trial, and a cruise on public roads just to make sure everyone is in a legit street car. They’ll even feed you dinner on Saturday night and run your car through show judging.
It seems like track days are about as common as invitations to play Candy Crush, but they’re usually at smaller, club tracks. Those can prove to be fun outings, but if you only have the coin to do one track day, wouldn’t you rather make it at a track like Daytona or Charlotte? Optima’s Search for the Ultimate Street Car makes that possible, making stops at bucket-list tracks from coast to coast.
