Behind The Scenes of Roadkill Ep. 55, Cummins Diesel in a Cadillac, Live On MTOD!

As proof that we’re listening, you guys asked for some things and we did those things. You said, “How about a diesel swap,” and also, “Why don’t you team up with HOT ROD Garage?”

For the latest episode of Roadkill, we did both. We tricked Lucky Costa and Tony Angelo into joining us at a junkyard and then we did terrible things to a 1991 Cadillac Brougham. If you’ve got a Motor Trend On Demand subscription, you’ve already seen how much fun the Broughammer is with a Cummins turbodiesel. If you are waiting for the episode to hit YouTube, here’s some behind the scenes shots from Freiburger, Finnegan, Lucky, Tony, and the video crew to get you all hyped up while you wait.

  1. DUDE! Hands down my favorite episode of RK! Now get that cummins on engine masters, throw some injectors at it. Along with heavier valve springs, an even higher RPM governor spring and a huge dry NOS shot! GREAT EPISODE! I cant believe you guys finally showed some diesel love!

  2. Its awesome you guys finally stuck a big toe into the world of diesel performance. But what you did to this engine is the equivalent of putting vortec heads and a four barrel with a mild cam in a small block. There is so much more power on the table with cummins engines. First thing that needs to change is you need a P7100 fuel pump like the one on roll smoky, get rid of that rotary pump they won’t flow enough fuel. ARP head studs, injectors, twin turbo with 3 piece exhaust manifold and NOS, put some sticky tires on that thing and take it to a drag strip, if full size trucks can get in to the low 12s, try and break into the 10s!
