2015 Car Craft Midnight Drags Rules & Information


The Car Craft Midnight Drags is the event for heads-up quarter-mile drag racers held at the Great Lakes Dragaway on Saturday night, July 18, 2015, after the Car Craft Summer Nationals at the Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisconsin.

Here are the rules:

•To compete, your car needs to pass a NHRA tech inspection for the e.t. and mph your car is capable of.

•All cars must run a DOT-stamped tire.

•Only rear-wheel-drive American vehicles may compete. No motorcycles, trikes, or diesels please.

•Competitors will receive a windshield banner that must be displayed on the vehicle at all times.

•Only 64 entries will be accepted. There will be one round of qualifying to determine the fastest 16 competitors plus four alternates. The rest of the non-qualified competitors can test ‘n’ tune until midnight.

•Lane choice will be determined by a coin toss.

•Pairs will be selected at random by track officials for single eliminations on a heads-up ladder. The top eliminator will be awarded a Car Craft jacket, $1,000, and coverage in Car Craft Magazine.

•Car Craft Magazine staff will be leaving the Milwaukee Mile fairgrounds after the Car Craft Summer Nationals to caravan to the event.
